Jewish Israeli (of Syrian, Yemen, Lithuanian & German Ancestry)
Yael was an alternative educator by day, a TED volunteer translator by night, and a singly mother of two. One night in 2016, in her tiny kibbutz apartmen, she saw a video of an Indigenous man sharing his traditional ancient wisdom, which were things she felt when she gave birth. She decided to translate it. Today she is married to the man from the video – Ilarion ‘Kuuyux’ Merculieff, living with her two daughters and him in Alaska. Yael extended her work with children, to also working with Elders (at
GCILL.world and
WisdomWeavers.world) as well as being a participant and facilitator of women’s healing work in the Middle East and beyond, inspired by traditional Indigenous Elders whom she learns from in her work.
