Atiya Wells

Atiya Wells is a pediatric nurse and the founder of Backyard Basecamp, Inc. Their mission is to (re)connect Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to land and nature. Through BLISS Meadows - a 10 acre land reclamation project - in Baltimore City they engage and educate their neighbors on environmental education, self-reliance, sustainability, and urban nature connection.

Dr. V. Rose Brusaferro

Dr. Brusaferro moved to Baltimore in 2008, where she began a career in environmental education in 2011. She studies human-nature relationships, builds environmental education programs, and serves as editor for an academic journal. She enjoys getting outdoors with her two dachshunds, learning to cook new foods, and finding fun ways to exercise.
