I am a queer, mestiza woman from Venezuela, raised in Boston, and living in rural Penobscot territory of Wabanakiyik (Maine). My identity is rooted in re-membering my cultural traditions while practicing and sharing decolonization and deep nature connection work. I am in the process of excavating my own voice and power; uncovering myself from all the generations of dust and chains that colonization and oppression have put on me, so that I can become the thinker and advocate and mentor that I am called to be. I am deeply motivated to help others who have faced similar oppression and repression uncover their own power, especially within the field of nature connection and outdoor education in order to make these spaces more just, equitable, and diverse so that we all may sow the seeds for our liberation and healing.
